Paul Mathenia- Senior Pastor/Teacher
Dr. Mathenia came to Beechmont Baptist Church as senior pastor in January 2019. Pastor Paul has a passion for proclaiming the truth of God’s Word to the end that souls are transformed by the power of Jesus Christ. Paul was born into a pastor’s home in Southern Illinois and grew up experiencing life in Christ’s church. It was through this life training that God prepared him to become a pastor in 1973 at the age of 22. He recently completed his 48th year serving the Lord’s churches in Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Maryland. Dr. Mathenia earned his BA from Mid-Continent University in Mayfield, KY where he majored in Bible. He received his MDiv from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN, and a PhD from Omega Graduate School (formerly Oxford G. S.), American Centre for Religion/Society Studies, in Dayton, TN.
Christopher Korves- Associate Pastor
Pastor Chris came to Beechmont Baptist Church as associate pastor in July 2021. He has a passion to serve the Lord’s church through the preaching and teaching of the Word of God and through the discipleship of God’s people. Chris became a follower of Jesus in 2001 and was called into gospel ministry in 2012. In May 2021, he graduated with an M. Div. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. In addition to being a pastor, Chris works as a chemist in Louisville. He is married to Megan and they have two children. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, following collegiate and pro sports, eating, and playing games.
